Lucy Coats read Ancient History at Edinburgh University, then worked as an editor for a children's publisher, and now writes full-time. She is a gifted poet and reteller of myths and legends. She has two children and lives in the countryside in Northamptonshire.

He has been in numerous roles for The Royal Shakespeare Company and has won the Lawrence Olivier Theatre Award 3 times. In 2003 he was appointed a CBE.
