Indonesia has developed rapidly in recent times to become the biggest economic power in Southeast Asia, with a booming export trade and an expanding middle class. These changes are magnified in Indonesia's capital city, Jakarta. If this impressive growth is to continue, Indonesia must tackle pressing challenges, including protecting its prized natural environment and taking action to help lift its poor out of poverty.
