Increasing numbers of us don't have a basic geographical idea of these islands - what's where in relation to what, and roughly what everywhere is like when you get there (Scotland = mountains and heather; Cotswolds = rolling hills; East Anglia = flat). This is partly down to a decline in geography education and partly due to Sat-Nav and other lazy 'A to Z and nothing in between' devices.
