This Country documents the day-to-day lives of young cousins, Kerry and Lee 'Kurtan' Mucklowe who live in a small village in the Cotswolds. The show follows them as they interact with the other residents of their claustrophobic Cotswold village: the local vicar - and one-time 80s popstar - Reverend Francis Seaton, aspiring tattoo artist, bodyguard and S Club 7 fan, Mandy Harris and self-confessed peeper and bookies' favourite for Worst Father in Britain, Martin Mucklowe, and explores the themes of social clumsiness, the trivialities of human behaviour, the eccentricities of living in rural England, and the boredome and social isolation of young people in small communities.

In keeping with the mocumentary style of the show, and in the style of the very best TV comedy books such as An Idiot Abroad, The Inbetweeners Yearbook and The Office, the book will wholly original and an 'in world' tie-in presented as the village parish news. Ostensibly front by Reverend Francis Seaton, the parish news will ultimately completely usurped by Kerry, Kurtan and the rest of the Mucklowe clan, and will features such as Kerry's neighbourhood watch diaries and Uncle Nugget's prison letters as well as doodles, fake ads and Kurtan's Tinder profile.
